Bosco’s Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others hosted their 3rd annual blitz on last Saturday at a sun-drenched Jack Mackin Park. Teams from Saval, Glenn and Drumgath joined two Bosco teams and all served up some lovely football throughout the afternoon. The teams had five games each and they were all played in a sporting and friendly manner – the ethos of G4M&O stresses the fun element and the non-competitiveness of games. All players and team mentors adhered to this code which resulted in plenty of laughter and the odd stray football threatening to disrupt the soccer matches being played on the nearby Jennings Park.
At the end of the day the Bosco coach Mo Rooney thanked and congratulated all the teams for their participation and making the Tournament a fantastic success; the teams were then treated to light refreshments in the Whitegates Community Centre. Next up for the Bosco squad is the All-Ireland Blitz which takes place in Portmarnock on Sat. 15th October. Last year, just over 100 teams played in this event but the organisers are expecting even more clubs to participate in 2016 – good luck to Mo and the team!
